Back story
Ten years ago the doctor held my son’s testing in her hand, looked me in the eye, and said: “He is definitely dyslexic.” Six months earlier he had been diagnosed with ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and Anxiety. He had been struggling socially in school, couldn’t follow directions so he had a hard time in extra-curricular group activities, and battled with sensory processing in a way that despite my professional experience, I did not understand. The dust in the air glittered as it floated to the ground when the doctor spoke, there was a black smudge on the floor underneath the foot of the desk, and I heard myself say, “How much more is he supposed to take?”

About Us
We believe deeply in every child’s right to an education. We know from decades of experience that every child has the capacity to learn, grow, and accomplish great things. We are certain that when given instruction that is matched to a child’s individual neurology and needs, they are bound to experience the joy in reading, the magic in math, the wonders of science, and the confidence that comes from being able to express oneself fully through words on a page. More than anything, we recognize the importance of teaching children to overcome obstacles and instill in them the self-concept that they are smart, they are strong, and they are capable of far more than anyone, perhaps even themselves, believe.
We have been advocating for and working with children with special needs for decades, and while it is hard work for everyone, it is also honor to watch our students grow.
